Your arrival on this small imperial world is entirely without fanfare -- a plain lander, and absolutely nothing to give you away as Astartes, at least on the outside of your lander. Obviously, on the inside things are entirely different. Most of the cargo hold is, after all, consumed with two heavily armoured and absolutely massive motorcycles.

Unloading is quick, and you see not far distant the mountains that make up your mission area.

Achmedes calls your attention to the cartograph. "Brother Palus, which do you prefer? We can move up the middle of the valley, but will be slowed by trees, or we can move along the edge near the mountains, though the distance is further."

The journey to the mountains takes nearly two hours at top speed.  Achmedes tajes the lead, since he is carrying the cartograph.  You enter the valley, skirting the wooded area and sticking to the rim near the mountains.

A few minutes inside the valley your suspicions about orky support on the ridge aee confirned.

"Oi!  Dere is 'umies down dere!  Ya grot-bref, get on dose gunz!  You!  Snot-fer-brains!  Get dose trax and tell da big boss we gots more o dem blackie 'umies comin' in!  Da rest of you boyz, get to da trukks!  We is eatin' 'umie tonight!  Waaagh!"

You quickly identify the "big gunz"- its a ramshackle turret composed of what looks like a twin-linked auto cannon.

The turret belches shells, and you think its targeting Achmedes, but the ork at the controls is so terribly inaccurate that its hard to tell.

You quickly ascertain that your bike will go no more than halfway uo the ridge, and that only if you are a lucky - and skilled - rider. The rest of the way is going to be a climb.

You note that Achmedes is moving to attemot an intercept on the orks who are attempting to get away to the boss.

Palus surged forward revving with one hand while gripping the grenade launcher in the other.

"Expect reprieve from the auto cannon momentarily brother" he rasped into the vox.

He fired once he was in range at the monstrosity the Orks had bastardised out of imperial weapons.

OOC:
Move half action. Net move penalty -20
Large target: +10
Oath of Knowledge: +10 vs Orks
Logis Implant: Tech-Use roll=73, which is still a pass for me. Therefore +10 to my BS this turn. That was my reaction.
Net result=+10

I will use Suffer No Weakness solo mode.

Attack roll: 21. Let fire rain from the sky.

Your grenade hits the turret, and by the grace of the emperor explodes almost directly on top of the ammunition hopper. The detonation creates a shrapnel bomb as fist-sized shells detonate in a series of mighty bangs, shredding the orks manning the gun. The gun itself is reduced to twisted lengths of metal.

"Brother Palus! There are four ork bike machines here. I am proceeding to eliminate them!"

You hear one explosion, testament that Achmedes has destroyed the first enemy bike. You arrive on scene in a few seconds, and see Achmedes pouring bolter fire into the next orky bike. You also see twelve orks on the ridge. Eight are jumping down on rocks towards you, the other four descend out of sight.

OOC - each "bike" is a large tracked trike-like vehicle that has a driver and gunner

The orks see you, and one points you out with a bellow. The lot of them turn and begin rushing you. You have 1 turn before they arrive. You can get them all with the burn.

Sorry for the delay.

IC- your cleansing flame catches the orks (who are not a horde) and to a greenskin lights them on fire. When the torrential jet of burning subsides, all eight are still alive. But burning prometheum clings to their flesh and you know that they are none of them a threat any longer. Beside you Achmedes destroys another bike. There are two left.

OOC- Attempting better descriptions with distances

IC- Achmedes leads you along the bottom of the ridge line. The valley rises up to you, resulting in a downward sloping hill to your left. Few large rocks and scattered trees dot the path ahead of you, but your drive path is not obstructed.

Achmedes slows to a stop and points down the hill. You see, about 500 m away a sizeable horde of orks moving in the trees. They are on foot, and avoiding them should be little challenge. But they have seen you. Achmedes consults the cartograph. "About a half kilometer north, then we cut east into the valley. Ir we cut east now and go through those orks. No telling what is waiting further north."

You readily identify 12 who are at or near the tree line. There is much more movement in the trees however, and there may be double the number you can see who are still obscured.
